Garda discovers body in River Shannon

The body of a man has been recovered from the River Shannon in Limerick.

The body was found by members of Limerick Marine Search and Rescue at around 11pm last night.

It is believed the body is that of a man in his 50's.

The man's body was spotted in the water by a Garda before being recovered close to the Shannon Bridge in Limerick.
