Firearms and ammo seized in Dublin raid: Five held

Five people have been arrested during garda raids targeting organised crime in Dublin's north inner city during which two firearms were also seized along with ammunition, it was revealed today.

Four men and one woman were arrested and are in custody in Store Street, Finglas and Mountjoy Garda Stations.

The raids yesterday, described as being "intelligence-led", were carried out by officers from the Organised Crime Unit with support from the Emergency Response Unit in the Cabra area.

Those arrested range in age from their early 20s to late 40s, and are being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
