Final Dáil debate on Civil Partnership Bill to take place

The final Dáil debate on the Civil Partnership Bill is due to take place today in what gay rights advocates are calling an "historic advance for same-sex couples''.

The Gay and Lesbian Network (GLEN) is commending legislators across all parties for their efforts in bolstering the rights of gay and lesbian people in Ireland.

"It's a fantastic day and a great achievement for Irish society," said GLEN spokesman Kieran Ross.
