FF councillor to run for Renua in by-election

Lucinda Creighton's new party is set to poach a Fianna Fáil councillor to run for the Dáil.

It is reported that Patrick McKee will tomorrow be unveiled as Renua's candidate for the Carlow-Kilkenny by-election.

Councillor McKee was only elected as a Fianna Fáil councillor ten months ago, and currently serves as the deputy chairman of Kilkenny County Council.

The 26-year-old is a long-time member of Fianna Fáil and had shown interest in contesting the by-election for the party, but did not put his name forward for selection.
