'FEMPOWER' to discuss women's equality in Dublin today

Access to affordable childcare and repealing the Eight Amendment are just two of the topics due to be discussed later at a major conference in Dublin.

Over 300 people are expected to debate these issues at FEMPOWER - organised by Independent General Election candidate for Dublin South West, Katherine Zappone.

She says barriers to women's equality are exercising voters ahead of polling day: “Women are rising again in 2016 looking for their freedom and liberation.

“So I thought why don’t we gather a large group to take a look at some of the things that need to change I believe there are still many things that need to change in terms of women’s equality.

“I also believe that change is possible we have many examples that we have achieved change over the years, but at the same time I want to encourage that the pace of change increases.”
