A survey by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland has found that fast food may not be as unhealthy as previously thought.
The authority looked at 150 samples of fast food such as chips, burgers, chicken nuggets and pizza and found that they had low levels of trans-fatty acid.
Three-quarters of the samples had less than 2% of this type of fat.
However, some of the samples had high levels of saturated fats.
The FSAI says it is encouraged by the findings.
