Fall in driver test waiting times

Fall in driver test waiting times

Average driver test waiting times have fallen to just under 8.6 weeks nationwide.

The Road Safety Authority has said that when it took over the responsibility for tests, the average wait was 34 weeks.

The RSA, the National Roads Authority and the Department of Transport appeared before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) today.

RSA Chief Noel Brett said it is vital that waiting times remain low, especially in the current economic climate so people can take up employment, take up college places, or obtain a licence prior to emigrating.
