Experts to discuss impact of airbrushed images on young people

Experts are gathering in Dublin today to discuss the impact of airbrushed images on young people - and their self image.

The conference is organised by Bodywhys - the national eating disorder association - which finds that young people are feeling enormous pressure to conform to an ideal standard of beauty.

It is not just girls who are struggling - a recent study in the UK found a 68% increase in the number of men presenting with eating disorders, over the past five years.

AUDIO: Youth development officer with Bodywhys Fiona Flynn Descalescu said that young people are struggling with idealised images of beauty.
