A plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport last night, leading to disruption for bank holiday passengers.
An American Airlines flight was travelling from London Heathrow to Boston when a technical problem was discovered.
The Boeing 757 jet touched down safely last night, but blocked the runway forcing authorities to close the airport for an entire hour.
Within the hour quite a bit of commotion followed with as many as 30 flights affected.
Five flights were diverted to Belfast while another five were sent to Shannon.
Several other aircrafts were forced into holding patterns over the Irish Sea for over half an hour while all departures were also halted.
All passengers and crew on board the American airlines flight are safe as a result of the incident.
