Éirígí holds ard fheis in Dublin today

The socialist republican party, éirígí, will hold its annual one-day ard fheis in Dublin today.

Next year's local elections and candidate selection will be among some of the main items on the agenda.

Jordanian-based activist Wesam Al-Khatib will address the event at Wynn’s Hotel in Dublin.

"It's going to be a combination of external and internal speakers," said chairperson of éirígí, Brian Leeson.

"We'll be looking at a range of issues, from the British occupation of the six counties through to the economic crisis that's taking place on both sides of the border.

"We've a number of external speakers, representative from the Palestinian struggle who has flown into Ireland to speak."
