Eight people found in shipping container in Rosslare

Eight people have been found in a shipping container at Rosslare Port.

The discovery was made this afternoon.

Gardaí say the three adults and five children are receiving medical treatment.

According to reports, they were discovered on a Stena Line ferry from Cherbourg to Rosslare in what is known as a 'curtain container'.

They have been brought to Dublin, and their claims for asylum will be processed.

In April, 14 people were found hiding in a container at the port in Wexford.
