Eight injured in road accident on Louth-Meath border

Eight people have been injured in a two-car collision on the Louth-Meath border in the early hours of this morning.

The accident happened shortly after midnight on the road between Donore and Drogheda.

Five men and three women have been taken to hospital for treatment, where one is understood to be in a critical condition.

The road is also expected to remain closed until later this morning.
