Dublin gardaí investigate cash-in-transit robbery

An investigation has been launched following a cash-in-transit robbery in Dublin this afternoon.

At around 1.20pm, a security man was struck on the head by another man while a delivery was being made at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.

A cash box was stolen and the thief made his getaway in a black coloured BMW partial registration 02 D driven by a second raider.

The security man was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, though his injuries are not believed to be serious.
