Drivers urged to be careful as status orange weather alert in effect throughout the country

A status orange warning for fog has come into effect for most counties.

It's expected to be dense in parts and the alert is in place until 8am this morning.

Drivers are being advised to take extra care on the roads.

Those travelling to Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and the Midlands are told to drive with caution this morning while the status orange alert is in place.
