Dozen begin priesthood studies in Maynooth

Saint Patrick's College in Maynooth, the National Seminary for Ireland, has welcomed 12 new seminarians who will begin their studies for the priesthood.

Three of them from northern dioceses will continue their studies at Saint Malachy's College in Belfast.

The new candidates, their families and friends were welcomed to Maynooth today by the President of the College, Monsignor Hugh Connolly.

He wished them "every blessing during this privileged time for discernment, for learning, for vocation, for praying and for being especially close to Our Lord".
