Down murder victim named

A woman was murdered after she went to a party in the North, it was revealed today.

Katie Hughes, who was in her early 20s, was attacked at a house in Park Avenue, Bangor, Co Down, last night.

She was rushed to hospital but later died.

A man in his 20s was arrested and is assisting police.

Democratic Unionist Assembly member Alex Easton said: “I am absolutely shocked and horrified at what has happened and I want to totally and utterly condemn the loss of life of a young lady and appeal for anyone with information to come forward.”
