Officers investigating the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe are carrying out a series of planned searches in Co Louth this afternoon.

Local detectives, supported by units including the Divisional Search Team and the Regional Support Unit, are leading the operation in the Faughart area of Dundalk.

It follows a series of raids on homes in the Carlingford area on Monday and searches by the PSNI in south Armagh last month.

Gardaí are also renewing their appeal for information about the shooting, which happened outside Lordship Credit Union on January 25 of this year.
