Derry man hospitalised after hammer attack

Police in the North are investigating a vicious assault on a 20-year-old man in Derry in the early hours of this morning.

The man was set upon by two men with hammers outside a fast food outlet in the city.

They attacked him around the head and arms and he was treated in hospital.

The PSNI is appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
