Derry bomb alert closes city centre streets

There is a bomb alert in Derry city which has closed part of the city centre.

Shipquay Street and Shipquay Place have been closed after police there got a telephone warning of a bomb.

The PSNI are searching a number of premises in the busy area which have been evacuated.

They have advised drivers to avoid the area and have asked anyone noticing any suspicious objects to contact them in Strand Road on 0845 600 8000.
