Defence Forces defuse viable device in Co Limerick

A viable improvised explosive device has been made safe near Askeaton, County Limerick.

The Defence Forces were called in after the device was found in the early hours of this morning.

A number of houses were evacuated to ensure the safety of residents, but the scene was declared safe at 2.15am.
