Another heated debate is taking place in the Dáil this morning over the Government's plan to remove the automatic medical-card entitlement for everyone over the age of 70.
The Ceann Comhairle has been forced to intervene on several occasions to bring calm to the chamber.
Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny described the decision as "stupid" and "callous".
The Tánaiste, Mary Coughlan, however, said over-70s living solely on a public pension would not lose their entitlement to a medical card.
She also insisted that the means test for people with higher incomes would be "simplified".
