Ctte to discuss listed building protection rules

The rules on protection for listed buildings will come under scrutiny at the Oireachtas Environment Committee today.

The Committee claims there are thousands of derelict buildings around the country which cannot be upgraded or demolished because they are protected.

Members of An Taisce and officials from the Department of the Environment have been called in to discuss the problem with TDs and Senators this afternoon.
