CSO figures show slight drop in unemployment rate

Ireland's unemployment rate dropped slightly again over the past month, according to the Central Statistics Office.

The CSO says the seasonally adjusted rate was 9.4% in September, down 0.1% on the previous month.

It is also down 1.5% on the same month last year.

The statistics show that 205,300 people were out of work in September, which is down by 800 on the figure for August.

The youth unemployment rate for people aged 15-24 years was 20.6% in September 2015, down from 20.7% in August 2015.
