CRC appoints admin after board resignation

An administrator has been appointed to run the Central Remedial Clinic, after the resignation of the entire board.

The HSE says the administrator will be responsible for organising new governance of the CRC.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of The Public Accounts Committee is calling for a Charity Commissioner to be appointed without delay.

John McGuinness wants the public to be confident in the knowledge that the money they donate is used for the benefit of the clients of charities and no other purpose.

"This damage has been brought about by the actions of a few," he said, "and we need to get the message across that there are many vulnerable people that are supported by charities.

"There's a necessity that they continue to support [these people] thought their various collections."
