Crash simulation taking place at Dublin Airport

A major training operation involving a large-scale simulated plane crash is being carried out at Dublin Airport this morning.

The four-hour exercise is based around the mock crash of an aircraft carrying 60 passengers and 12 crew.

Volunteers from the Defence Forces and the Civil Defence are playing the role of injured passengers and crew, as well as concerned members of the public looking for family onboard.

Emergency services from multiple agencies are participating in the exercise.
