Cowen: O'Dea has support of the Government

The Taoiseach Brian Cowen has said the Defence Minister Willie O'Dea continues to enjoy his support and that of the Government.

Brian Cowen made the remarks as Green Party members meet at Leinster House to consider the controversy.

Their Chairman Dan Boyle said last night that he doesn't have confidence in Willie O'Dea who he described as "compromised".

Mr O'Dea said today that he believes he himself is "a victim who has paid a high price over this controversy".
