Cowen gets mixed reaction at Ploughing Championships

The Taoiseach Brian Cowen has been given a mixed reception during a visit to the National Ploughing Championships in Athy, Co Kildare, today.

Flanked by Gardaí and officials, Brian Cowen spent several hours meeting people in the trade and exhibition area, and on the ploughing fields.

It was the Taoiseach's first opportunity to gauge public reaction to the controversy which followed his radio interview.
