Coast Guard rescues a young woman lost on Howth Head

The Irish Coast Guard has rescued a young woman who was lost on Howth Head in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

Fifteen members of the local Coast Guard unit were deployed in an effort to locate the woman, who was disorientated and getting distressed.

Gardaí kept phone contact with her, while a search as carried out.

She was found in an area of forestry after 3am and an assessment was carried out, but she was not in need of further medical treatment.

Yesterday evening, the Coast Guard helicopter as launched to go to the assistance of a fisherman with head injuries on a fishing boat in the Irish Sea.
