Graphic images showing the health consequences of smoking are to be posted on cigarette packets to warn people about the potentially deadly habit, it emerged tonight.
The Government has come up with 14 pictures and the public are invited to contact the Department of Health over when they should be rolled out.
One image reveals how the habit can contribute to lung cancer while another shows damage to the throat.
All interested parties are asked to get in touch with the Department before the submission deadline of June 20.
Following the public consultation the combined text and photo warnings will be introduced on tobacco products.
