Cannabis plants worth €500k seized in Co Donegal

Around €500,000 worth of cannabis plants have been seized in a remote area of Co Donegal.

The plants, along with sophisticated growing equipment, were found in a warehouse at Trummon near Donegal town.

Two Chinese men, aged 24 and 34, were arrested and are being held at Ballyshannon garda station.

The raid, a joint operation between local detectives and the National Drugs Unit, was launched just before 12.30 pm yesterday, according to Highland Radio.

Detectives are believed to have followed suspects for several days before the swoop was launched.
