Cannabis herb, worth €42k, seized in Westmeath

Cannabis herb valued at €42,000 has been seized in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

Gardaí seized the drugs following the search of a car stopped on the N52 at Cloghan, Co Westmeath.

The seizure was made on Tuesday September 13 at 5pm.

Two people were arrested at the scene, a man aged 21 years old and a female juvenile.

They are currently being detained at Mullingar Garda Station under section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

An amount of cash was also seized during the search.
