Cannabis-growing operation uncovered in Cavan

Gardaí have seized a large quantity of cannabis plants following a search of a house on Church Street, Coothill, Co Cavan yesterday.

The search of the vacant property took place at approximately 2pm and Gardaí discovered in excess of 1,300 cannabis plants being cultivated.

The plants may have a street value in excess of €520,000, pending analysis.

The area remains sealed off pending a forensic examination and the investigation is ongoing.

No arrests have been made.
