British exit from EU identified as major risk to Ireland in report

The Government has warned of the risks to Ireland if Britain decides to leave the EU.

A so-called "Brexit" is one of the risks outlined in the National Risk Assessment published by the Taoiseach this evening.

It said the UK is an important ally on issues like trade and the single market - and also a major trading partner.

The report also said the Government must be vigiliant of economic and political changes in the North, especially if Stormont receives more devolved power from London.
