Brendan Howlin: Confidence motion gives us 'space to spell out the good job of Govt'

The Minister for Public Expenditure Brendan Howlin says today's confidence motion in the Taoiseach will be an opportunity to champion the success of the Government.

Brendan Howlin says they will use the Dáil time today to showcase what a good job the Government has done in the last four and a half years.

Minister Howlin was speaking on his way into the weekly Cabinet meeting.

He said: "The vote of confidence is about whether this government has done a good job for the last four and a half years - I think the answer to that, objectively, is yes.

"And we have the space today to spell out exactly a clear answer to that."
