BoI workers vote in favour of strike action

Bank of Ireland workers are to go on strike in a row over the company's share option scheme.

The IBOA announced this afternoon that its members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of staging a 24-hour work stoppage in two weeks time.

The dispute centres on the company's decision to cut their staff's share options in half, from 6% of their annual salaries to 3%.

Its anticipated the action will affect branches throughout the country.
