The body of a man has been found in the back garden of a house in Waterford city.

The discovery was made by gardaí at around 2.30pm today on Francis Street.

An ambulance was called, but the man was pronounced dead.

His body remains at the scene, which has been sealed off for a technical examination.

A post mortem will be carried out tomorrow at Waterford Hospital.
