BAI: No fresh evidence to justify second 'Tweetgate' inquiry

The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has said there is no fresh evidence that would warrant another inquiry into the 'Frontline' presidential debate programme.

Its compliance committee has said it awaits a report from RTE on a review of editorial practices at the station.

Meanwhile, the Compliance Committee has also concluded a report into the libel of Father Kevin Reynolds by 'Prime Time'.

It has made a recommendation to the full authority, which must be accepted, but is refusing to disclose the decision until it is discussed by the BAI.

Speaking in the Dáil earlier, Enda Kenny said RTE must show "impartiality".
