Baby boy reunited with parents after car stolen in Tipperary

A man has been arrested after a car was stolen in Co Tipperary yesterday, with a four-month-old baby in the back seat.

The car was taken in Newport Village around 3pm yesterday, while the baby boy was still in his seat.

Gardaí immediately put a search operation in place, and recovered the car and the baby in Nenagh a short time later.

The baby boy was uninjured and reunited with his parents.

The man in his 60s was arrested on the outskirts of Limerick around 4pm yesterday and is being held at Nenagh garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He has been charged and is due to appear at Nenagh District Court at 10.30am today.
