Auditors to examine financial arrangements at St Vincent's Healthcare

The HSE is to commission external forensic auditors to look at the financial arrangements of St Vincent's Healthcare group.

The Irish Times has reported that concerns have been raised about the parent group which operates St Vincent's and St Michael's hospitals in Dublin, which receive public funding - as well as St Vincent's private hospital.

St Vincent's Hospital

The HSE says Director General Tony O'Brien has received specific allegations.

It is understood that they relate to documents which describe St Michael's as security in a mortgage for St Vincent's Healthcare Group.

The Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General has been notified.
