An Army Bomb Disposal Team has made safe a viable Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) in Phibsborough, Dublin this afternoon.
The Defence Forces deployed to Kings Inns Street, Phibsborough following a request from the Gardaí; the area had been cordoned by the Gardaí and local residents were evacuated to a safe location.
The team arrived on scene at 5.20pm and examined the device which was found close to a private residence.
The viable device was made safe in situ and handed over to the Gardaí to assist with their investigations.
The scene was declared safe at 6.40pm.
