Apollo House set to be demolished

The way has finally been cleared to demolish Apollo House in Dublin.

The 1960s office block has often been dubbed one of the city's ugliest buildings, but over Christmas last year it became a beacon of hope after it was occoupied by housing activists.

The decision to replace it with a 10-storey office building was appealed to An Bord Pleanála.

The planning authority has now given the project the green light.
