Antrim student dies on school trip

A Co. Antrim primary school pupil has died during a school trip to Scotland.

Ruby Dench was in her final year at Whiteabbey Primary.

The school's headmaster Peter Wright, said that the cause of her death had not yet been established but that no other child or adult was involved,

"Our thoughts are with her parents, brother and the wider family and obviously we give them our full support and thought over the coming days and weeks," he said.

"We also are aware there is the potential for some of the children in school to be very traumatised by the loss of such a dear friend."
