Almost 300 people waiting for a hospital bed across the country today

There are 289 people on trolleys in hospitals across the country today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, 34 people are in need of a bed at University Hospital Limerick - the highest number in the country.

Cork University Hospital is next with 31 people on trolleys and overflow areas of wards.
