Acting Garda Commissioner to review PAC report into penalty points

The acting Garda Commissioner has issued a statement welcoming the report by the PAC into the penalty points issue.

Noirin O'Sullivan said the Force was fully committed to improving the effectiveness and transparency of the penalty points system.

Commissioner O'Sullivan said major changes were introduced in June 2014 to strengthen governance and oversight of the system.

And she said she would immediately review the report by the Public Accounts Committee with a view to further improving the system.
