Abuse survivors present letter to Archbishop Martin

A letter from survivors of abuse to be delivered to the Pope has been presented to the Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin.

The letter states that many survivors of abuse in religious-run institutions believe their suffering was not taken as seriously as clerical child sexual abuse.

The one-page letter, signed by 'Right to Peace', 'Right of Place' and 'Alliance Victim Support Group', says former residents were also angry at the "less than full apology or expression of horror" by the Pope following the Ryan Report.
