61-year-old man seriously injured in Galway collision

A 61-year-old man has been seriously injured in a traffic accident in Co Galway.

He was the driver of a car which collided with another vehicle at Creagh on the Athlone Road in Ballinasloe at around 9pm last night.

The injured man is being treated in Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

A 21-year-old-man who was driving the other car involved in the crash was uninjured.

The road is currently closed for a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
