2,000 without power as tail end of US storm hits Ireland

Over 2,000 homes and businesses are without power around the country.

The majority of outages are in the south and south east, as high winds and heavy rain hitting the area.

Two yellow weather warnings are in effect as the same storm, Storm Jonas, that hit the US last weekend reaches Ireland.

Coastal counties are the worst affected and many areas are on high alert for flooding.

A flood warning applies to coastal areas of counties Wexford, Waterford, Cork, Kerry, Clare, Galway and Mayo.
