11 Arrested in Waterford Over Irish Water Protests

11 people have been arrested in Waterford City as Irish Water attempted to install water meters.

The incident occurred at the Cherrymount estate in the City this afternoon. Three appeared before before Waterford District Court this evening.

The remainder are being held at Garda Stations in Waterford and Tramore.

There's a large garda presence in the Cherrymount area at present which is set to remain there until tonight.

Tensions have been high in the Cherrymount Estate with six people arrested there last Tuesday as Irish Water attempted to install water metres.
