Thousands at Kildare open day

Young people at the Hannon family farm open day in Kildare.

More than 2,000 people attended a family day out on the dairy farm of Larry and Karen Hannon in Ballitore, Co Kildare.

The open day was hosted by the agri-food educational body Agri Aware to inform consumers about the journey their fresh milk takes from the farm to their table. The Hannons are suppliers of Glanbia’s Avonmore milk, event sponsors.

Larry Hannon said: “We really enjoyed having all the families on the farm.

“We’re so close to our local factory and I think it was clear to consumers on the farm the level of pride that we take in producing fresh milk.”

The Hannon family, including Lucy (13), twins Sally and Amy (10), enjoyed meeting the hundreds of families who travelled to their home.
