Winehouse's mother thinks cigarettes and empty alcohol bottles are "fitting" tributes to her daughter

Winehouse's mother thinks cigarettes and empty alcohol bottles are 'fitting' tributes to her daughter

Fans flocked to the late Amy Winehouse's former London home yesterday to pay their respects and mark three years since she died of alcohol poisoning. They left gifts of posters, graffiti, candles and photos, as well as the cigarettes and bottles in commemoration.

Amy’s mother Janis Winehouse visited the property, in Camden, north London - where her daughter died in 2011 - to see all the ways Amy's fans had tried to honour her.

Despite her daughter's battle with alcohol, Janis told TMZ she isn't upset by the unusual gifts, insisting it just makes her happy the singer's fans still care about her.

Meanwhile, Amy's father Mitch Winehouse marked yesterday by visiting his daughter's grave and sharing some laughs with friends.

He then thanked fans for their kind messages of support.

Fans have also taken to Twitter to pay their respects to the late singer.

Lady Gaga, Lana Del Ray and Russell Brand were also seen paying their respects online.
